| L322 Range Rover representing only the second project update in 32 years was formally introduced to the world at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2002. The new model was developed during BMW's period of ownership of Land Rover from 95 - 2001. The redesign was given a higher priority by BMW, with a total "clean sheet" approach resulting in the claim of most expensive development program for any vehicle, ever. The challenge was to update the on-road performance and handling from the pedestrian standards of past Range Rovers to levels more competitive with contemporary luxury sedans, while also improving on past Range Rovers' supreme off road abilities. The designers succeeded brilliantly in improving both on-road handling and off-road ride through the use of a highly innovative cross-coupled independent airbag suspension. | |

| The Yamaha YZF R1 2007 has been carving its way into motorcycle history since 1998, and in 2007 the scalpel has been sharpened to the point of being critical... at least to the competitor. In the beginning the R1 set new standards for functioning in the liter bike class with a combination of a sick motor and track-inspired good looks. It enjoyed a long successful run for the next half decade before raising the visual standards to another level in '04. Although that design was a huge sales success and became a favorite among the custom bike builders, the lower-rpm response from its engine wasn't up to the liter bike class standards. The 5 valve head has been the heart of the R1 since its inception, so the fact that Yamaha YZF R1 2007 has decided to replace it with a 4 valve unit speaks volumes. But don't mourn the loss of those poor little intake valves - this Yamaha YZF R1 2007 returns to its roots as a good-looking no-nonsense liter bike hell bent on causing a ruckus on both the street and track. | |
